Normally, by this time on Christmas Week, things are ramping up towards the Big Day but this year, everything's surprisingly quiet (did the food shop last week, to beat the crowds!?). In fact, it hardly feels like Christmas, until my whole village lights up at sundown with a succession of outdoor lighting, folks have gone all out this year to bring a little extra brightness to our little corner of the world, it looks really pretty - not to everyone's taste and not great on the light pollution scale but it's only for a few weeks and at this time in history, is more than welcome.
I've been rather frugal with the Christmas decs this year, having culled quite a lot from the various bags lying around my boxroom and given away to the charity shops that would take donations. I can't photograph anything at the moment (missed the most spectacular sunset last night, the sun was like a huge fireball, shining through a line of trees which silhouetted themselves dramatically above a field of rising permafrost). Maybe Santa will be extra good to me this year and bring me something decent with which to capture these moments so I can show them to you here.
I hope that you all manage to have a lovely festive time, no matter how you celebrate it and I'll leave you with a Christmas card of Charlotte Square in Edinburgh and when if I am lucky enough to be presented with a new camera, I'll take a pic of a lovely Christmas card which I received from another artist friend just the other day (you know who you are!).
So, farewell for now but do stay safe and well.
Merry Christmas and Much Love to All.

that's a lovely snowy scene. I do hope santa drops a quality camera into your stocking but if he doesn't, any pictures of any quality that you can muster are fine even if you have to resort to Google images ... I miss your posts with little smatterings of dry humour. Here's to 2022, more blogging and our postponed meet up in Edinburgh :)
