I'm so chuffed about this Geum which I
My Japanese Acer getting ready to put on a fine show, if the rather large pigeon who's taken up residence amongst the top branches, causing the leaves to flutter to the ground on a daily basis at an alarming rate would vacate his new b&b!
Wild strawberries produce a nice flower too.
I've had these Peonies for a couple of decades now. I brought them with me from my last house and that was nearly 16 years ago! I gave them a liquid seaweed feed last week and they loved it.
My kitchen windowsill green peppers continue to thrive too albeit on the 'petite' size! I'm sure they'll be just as flavoursome.
More beautiful flowers but this time hanging on my wall. My lovely and good friend, Betty sent me this fabulous silk painting of these lovely Poppies and I found a nice frame for it and hung it up on my 'art' wall. It's very cheery and I really appreciate it. Thanks, Pal.
Even the underside of the leaves are perfect and the colours just zing! Clever, clever Betty.
I like the book programme 'Between the Covers', though as much as I also like Sara Cox, I find her a bit too gushy with some of the authors but last night, this book was discussed and it sounded so interesting that I went online after the programme finished and to my delight, discovered that it was available for reserving at my local library which just happened to have re-opened yesterday too. So 24 hours later, I have a new book to read. Support your local libraries whenever you can. We're so lucky to still have them.
All ready for you whenever you want to pop in.

That bit of silk looks so much better framed am so glad you like it and it has a loving home. You have some very pretty things in the garden, your Acer is impressive, I have one but it never goes beyond six foot.
ReplyDeleteI love my silk paintings and want to preserve them for as long as possible. My Ma visited yesterday and commented on the Acer. Actually, what she said was 'does that not get on your nerves hanging over the path like that?'!I love it for the little bit of screening privacy it provides against the eyesore over my back fence. Thanks for calling in Betty.xxx
DeleteThank you for the tour of your garden, everything looks lovely. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Joy. Kind of you to say so.
DeleteYour garden is gorgeous, I'd love to sit on that bench in that pretty corner and see it in all it's glory. I'm amazed by that Acer! I hope the one we bought on saturday gets big enough for nesting pigeons!
ReplyDeleteAnother plant thief? Jon carries a bag with him at all times just in case he spots something interesting when he's out and about.
Betty's silk painting is beautiful, I bet it puts a big smile on your face every time you walk past it. xxx
Thank you Vix. My old bench is not doing too well this year. It's really falling to bits, despite the many coats of paint on it but I can't bear to chuck it. I'm aiming to put all my red Geraniums on it for show when they eventually start producing flowers. Hopefully, this weekend when the weather's supposed to turn nicer. My Ma does the same as Jon whenever we go visiting favourite garden spots! The Plant Thieves.....good title for a book!
DeleteYour garden is looking much better than mine. It is getting hot here so soon there won't be many flowers at all. I love that silk painting it is gorgeous. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mer, it's a constant wip!Was hot here today and that's enough for me!x
DeleteHow did I miss this post !!! Your garden is looking so pretty Anne .. its such a pretty time of year isn't it. That painting from Betty is just beautiful ... its great that you have framed it & hung it so you can enjoy it. Have a wonderful week my friend xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks Julie, yes a bit of colour is what we could all be doing with right now! x
DeleteWhat lovely blooms and greenery you have. Amazingly different from ours although the same plants. The poppy picture is gorgeous! How did you manage to grow a green pepper indoors? Don't they need pollination by bees? I would love to grow everything inside because there are so many critters and bugs here. Our library is sorely lacking here so I stopped going in. They never had anything I was looking for and they didn't do well as exchanging with other libraries. I'm particular aboutmy books...lol! I hope you enjoy that one! What a lovely patio you have.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sam for 'popping in'.Believe it or not, the green pepper was grown from seeds from a red pepper that I was using one day. I have two plants from the seeds. One has red peppers on it and the other one has green, though I think they might turn red eventually. I have kept them on my kitchen windowsill throughout the year and they seem to be happy there so I'm not going to plant them outside. Lots of bugs here too. It's a nightly chore trying to keep the slug numbers down!I can't fault our libraries here. We're very lucky to still have them and I do everything in my power to 'empower' people to use theirs.
DeleteOh, I DO love Betty's work! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteRemember when you taught me to make plum jam? I wish I had some plums!
I am so thankful for libraries. I must visit ours. I use the online/e-book feature and free is wonderful!
Sending heaps of love to you, Annie! xo
Thanks Pom. Yes I remember the plum jam tute! Not made it for ages since retirement but made some lovely redcurrants jelly last week for old boss!xxx
