School's out this week so a great opportunity to have the fabulous grandchildren to stay for a sleepover. We do 'fun' stuff, like watching one of their favourite films.

though I have to say, I wasn't impressed with this version of Peter Rabbit, who I felt was rather 'thuggish' in his naughtiness and I'm not sure I liked his 'gangsta' friends either. The girls seemed to enjoy his antics though, so all was not lost.
We had a chance to visit our favourite local charity shop and someone spotted this little tartan dress which she 'just had to have'! She looks cute in it!
We decided on pizza for tea so rolling pins and pizza dough at the ready, they set about making their own variations. Someone was a whizz with her rolling pin!
This one is 'Minnie Mouse'. Can you tell?
This one is 'Mickey'!
Empty plates afterwards so I'd say they were a great success.

We also found this adorable book in the charity shop and I loved this 'hen' poem, with the penultimate line causing a great deal of laughter!
I collected these eggs at work the other day so seemed pretty apt to have a poem to go with them.

For Cat People everywhere!

Then the really bright moon made an appearance and it was time for everyone to go home.
It will probably take me the best part of the day to get my house back to normal but I don't mind one little bit. We had a lovely time together and I really was 'in good company'.

Thanks for visiting.
Until next time.

What a wonderful time you had and you are the best grandma! I did not have grandmas so I'm not sure I am a good one but I try. Mine are long distance so I send lots of packages and then I see them in the summer. That dress is precious and I do love a good thrift shop! They did really good on the pizza's....Mickey and Minnie too! Very talented grandchildren you have! I'm sure they got it from their grandmother! LOL! What a great day!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you didn't have Grandmas but I'll bet you are indeed a great one. I'm awfully grateful that my 'grands' live close by.Thanks for stopping by.
Deletestealthy fingers under her bum! love that - can imagine her surprised expression :) i'm not a fan of poetry at all but this made me smile. Glad you are having fun with the girlies, that little tartan dress is so sweet. I love tartan, rarely see it round here, my grandmother had a purple and lilac kilt she wore to death and I have searched for years to find one like it to no avail, maybe it's not even a real tartan! One day I shall go to Scotland and get me one! Interested to know if you wear them - I have this vision of Scottish ladies in the supermarket all wearing kilts? or are kilts no longer worn? Have a great weekend x
ReplyDeleteYou must come to Scotland one day. Plenty of room here for you! Rich Scottish ladies are prone to sporting tartan and tweed and Maggie Thatcher hairstyles. You can spot them a mile away. The garb for the rest of us is mostly jeans and baggy jumpers!!lolx
DeleteStaying with you must be so much fun! Loving that adorable tartan dress and that wonderfully illustrated poetry book, what marvellous finds! xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you Vix. So enjoying your travelogue.x
