Well, here we are, another 'pinch punch, first of the month' post and who would think that the year could come at you at such a hasty pace like a runaway train but as in all things, it comes around, it goes around.
The farmers are busy doing there thing. Don't you just love this sight? I'm very lucky to be surrounded by fields full of neatly packaged hay bales and roundels and I never get tired of taking pics of them.
August was a good month socially. I treated myself to a ticket for the Edinburgh Book Festival to go and see Sue Perkins (comedienne/ex-presenter of Great British Bake Off) talk about her latest book. I enjoyed the event and she came across as a very genuine and honest celeb (rather unique in this day and age!) and she talked affectionately and endearingly about her late father, who is obviously a great loss in her life. She was also very honest about the fact that she's been attending therapy for a number of years due to her anxiety issues.
Not a great pic but photos weren't allowed - I had to take this one very, very quickly lest I was escorted off the premises by the big burly bouncer just out of view!
Then two days later, it was Annual Flower Show time so we got busy in the kitchen.
Decorated biscuits went down well - highly commended in fact!
I did quite well with my produce entries.

The miniature garden entries scooped rosettes too.

Someone won a 'first' for her photography entry (the paper clip is not part of the exhibit but a necessary requirement of flower show 'rules'!
Some of us got 'tattoo-ed'!
The best part of the day, though was our little treat to ourselves (me and the 10yr-old, it's our 'thing' after the event) at the local Italian Restaurant, paid for with my winnings!
Gifted Gladioli from a very nice man who grew and exhibited these beauties.
Yes, all-in-all, it's not been a bad August.
Let's hear it for September.
Until next time.
