Happy Hogmanay......

Well it's all over bar the proverbial, for another year at least.
I managed to catch up with myself, having burned the candle a little more than at both ends. I think perhaps old age is catching up with me too, it seems to take me a bit longer to do things now that I'm in my doteage. Slow and steady wins the race though.

I managed to finish this little funny-looking thing in the dying hours of Christmas Eve, only to realise that I'd embroidered the face upside down! I had to unpick the whole thing and start again. The project, for my youngest Granddaughter, started out being a monkey but I ran out of yarn for his legs so now he's fondly known as an 'owl-monkey'. At any rate, the recipient was very happy with him and he's extremely cuddle-able, which is the most important thing.
Also managed to get the chocolate truffles done and dusted. I changed the flavour of some of them by adding some peppermint oil and they were also well-received by their recipients.

And I managed to get the little cardi for my Great-Niece done, just in time as it happens because she's growing so fast, she won't get much wear out of it but I've already started another one for her which will hopefully do her for a little longer.
Not sure whether I've spoken about this angel before but I made her a couple of years ago for my boss's Xmas Tree to replace a rather tired and worn-out little angel.

Was Santa good to you? He was very good to me.
He brought me some luxurious wool (cashmere, silk, alpaca). Hopefully I'll find the time to make something equally swish with it once the dust settles after the Festive Season.
Do you have an Amazon Wish List? I'm very sneaky with mine. I add things to it during the year, then wait for members of my family to look at it and hey presto! the things I'd really like miraculously appear in my Xmas stocking! (I'm not really sneaky, I would rather they spend their hard-earned money on stuff that I would really use or need than the usual unecessary and expensive items that I might have no use for).
I 'needed' all of these books!!

And there's always room for beautiful bouquets.

So it only leaves me to say, 'Happy, Healthy,Prosperous New Year' to you all and thanks for spending a little time here.
You're all wonderful people.
I'll drink to that!
