Anyhoot, my sisters and I went on a little road trip last month, to Liverpool. They couldn't believe how excited I got about going to Penny Lane (they're a little younger than me so missed the whole Beatlemania thing by a few years but my peers amongst you will understand, right?).
We went to all the usual Fab Four hotspots, visited the Liverpool Museum of Slavery, the Tate, Albert Dock and the Museum of Liverpool itself which was hosting a John and Yoko exhibition.
She was a one, that Yoko! She totally bewitched the man and I still haven't forgiven her for breaking up the Beatles (well maybe not entirely her fault - they were at the end of their long and winding road as a band and each wanted to go on to other things singularly). Their story together was very interesting all the same and of course, the ending was truly heartbreaking.
Such handsome fellas they were.
This was the back of George's coat. I'm not sure what the Sanskrit means but it looks effective.
Who was your favourite Beatle?
Banana Lamas were in abundance.
My sisters outside the Tate.
I loved this little display but I'm not going to say that word until at least mid-November!
xoxoxo

When you said you were going to Liverpool I never thought about the Beatles and all that, I wouldn't mind going myself. Looks like you had a fair amount of fun with your sisters. My favourite I think is Paul but not sure why apart from having nice shiny hair in his younger days!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to get away from anything Beatle-related. The City itself is full of history and interesting architecture.
